Welcome

                   Welcome back to a new school year!  I am excited to be here at Rutherford School.  This is my 4th year teaching.  I have enjoyed working with the students and look forward to the year ahead.  I will continue working with the Jr. High students.  If I can help assist you in anyway, please feel free to call me at the school. 

                    A little bit about me:  I grew up in Dyer and attended Dyer School.  After graduating Gibson County High School in 1991, I had worked with my mother in her daycare and later at a local grocery store.  In 1999, I returned to school and attended Union University where I obtained a Degree in Psychology.  I spent the next 5 years working for the Carl Perkins Center in Trenton.  I spent many hours working with at risk children and their families.  In 2007, I was given the opportunity to further my education.  I returned to Union and in August 2008 was hired with Rutherford School.  Then in August 2009, I obtained a Master of Arts in Education. 

                    In March 2008, I met Eric Newton from South Fulton, and we dated 7 months when he proposed.  We both continued our education and waited until we both had graduated before we were married January 2, 2010.
